The Federal Minister for Resources and Energy, Martin Ferguson, has agreed to meet with New England MP, Tony Windsor, to discuss the impact of mining on the Liverpool Plains.
It follows the local MP’s calls for the Minister to support the development of a bioregional plan for the Namoi Valley.
The impact of mining on ground water resources and fostering better relations between the mining and agricultural sectors will also be addressed.
