The RTA has confirmed it will replace a Maitland footbridge, knocked down by a truck carrying a cherry picker in March.
Amateur footage shows the carnage seconds after the overpass collapsed onto the New England Highway, crushing two trucks and narrowly missing a car.
The RTA is seeking about $1-million from the trucking company’s insurer to cover the costs of building a new footbridge.
It’s still working out the design for the span.
Police continue to investigate the accident, and no charges have been laid.
