Byron Bay is back on high alert after fragments of the virus were again detected at the local sewage treatment plant.
The sample, taken on August 17, today returned a positive reading.
The plant serves around 19,000 people from Byron Bay to Broken Head.
Fragments were also found on the same day in Yamba.
Anyone with the mildest of symptoms should get tested.
