ABARES REPORT HIGHLIGHTS IMPACTS OF CLIMATE CHANGE ON FARMERS
A new report has found climate change has cost Australian farmers an average of $30,000 a year, over the past two decades.
The Bureau of Agricultural and Resource Economics study – finding farm profit has dropped by nearly a quarter.
While the risk of low farming incomes has doubled since 2000.
The Bureau says the stats are likely due to more varied conditions, such as drought, causing inconsistencies for crop growers.
