A manhunt is underway in Coffs Harbour, after a 22-year-old was stabbed overnight.
The victim had been walking south along Grafton Street shortly before 9.30 when he was approached by another man, not known to him.
After a brief conversation, he was stabbed in the back.
His attacker fled along Park Avenue and remains on the run.
The victim was treated at the scene before being taken to Coffs Harbour Base Hospital with non life-threatening injuries.
Police are looking for a man with a slim build and a short brown beard.
He’s described as being around 180 centimetres tall and at the time of the attack, he was wearing an orange / red hooded jumper, blue trackpants and black shoes.
