The State Opposition is taking aim at the Government after the latest Bureau of Health Information report revealed elective surgery wait times are ballooning in the bush.
In the Northern New South Wales health district, the wait for non-urgent surgeries has increased by more than 15-percent to 341 days.
“It’s time in the upcoming budget in a few months that the government gets serious and invests in hospitals and health services in places like Northern New South Wales and across regional New South Wales,” Shadow Minister for Health, Ryan Park, said.
The report also showed one in four local emergency department patients have their treatments delayed.
