MAN ARRESTED OVER POLICE PURSUIT

A man has been arrested after a police pursuit in the Hunter Valley this morning.

Just before 7am, officers were told about a white Holden Commodore travelling north on the New England Highway, allegedly being driven in a dangerous manner and crossing onto the wrong side of the road.

Police found the vehicle and initiated a pursuit, just near Liddell Power Station.

Soon after, the Commodore allegedly lost control and crashed into a B-Double truck travelling south.

The 30-year-old male driver of the Commodore suffered minor injuries, and was taken to Muswellbrook Hospital under police guard for mandatory testing.

The truck driver, a 28-year-old man, was treated for minor injuries by paramedics for minor injuries.

The New England Highway has now been re-opened.
