73 KILOGRAMS OF CANNABIS LOCATED IN BYRON BAY

A woman has been charged in Byron Bay after police found 73 kilograms of cannabis in a truck.

At around 3:30 yesterday afternoon, Highway Patrol Police and Detectives stopped the Pantech truck travelling on the Pacific Motorway and searched the vehicle.

Inside, they located cannabis with an estimated street value of $480,000.

A man and woman, both aged 24 were arrested at the scene.

The woman was charged with supply commercial quantity-cannabis.

She appeared in Ballina Local Court today where she was formally refused bail and will reappear on Thursday 4 February 2021.
