Artists from every Australian state and territory have traveled to Tamworth for the opening day of the 18th Tamworth Fibre Textile Biennial.
The exhibition, which has been running since the early 1970s features artwork made from unique materials.
Leading artists mingled with fans to share the thoughts and inspirations behind their pieces.
The exhibit will be on display at the Tamworth Regional Gallery until mid January. In March the collection embarks on a national tour, starting at Tweed Heads.
