The Australian Bureau of Meteorology have issued a severe weather warning for the Mid-North Coast and parts of the Hunter and New England regions.
Affected areas are likely to see heavy rainfall, hail and damaging winds in the coming hours.
The SES has advised people to move cars and pets inside, keep clear of creeks and storm drains and stay indoors.
