The generosity of the Wallsend community has ensured five local schools will get brand new cricket kits.
The Lemon Grove Hotel came up with the idea, launching a fundraising drive during the peak of the pandemic.
Wallsend, South Wallsend, Platsburg, Minmi and St Patrick’s primary schools will receive the kits tonight.
