FORSTER LOCAL WAS THE FIRST AUSTALIAN MAN TO SWIM ENGLISH CHANNEL

An ex-champion ocean swimmer has been recognised for his success, inducted into the Australian Hall of Fame.

Now a Forster local, John Koorey was the first Australian man to complete the English Channel in 1969.
