RISING MOTORSPORT RIDER JAILED

A rising motorsport rider for Port Stephens has been jailed for his role in a major drug syndicate.

Hunter Ford was today sentenced to at least 18 months behind bars, for supplying a large quantity of MDMA.

The 21-year-old from Anna Bay was part of a sophisticated drug ring which stretched from the Hunter to Tamworth.

He had signed a lucrative two-year deal to race in Europe, just weeks before he was nabbed by police.

Ford will be eligible for release in August next year.
