PARTS OF THE HUNTER RECEIVE HEAVIEST RAIN FALL IN FOUR YEARS
Australia’s east coast has endured a continuous downpour of heavy rain, damaging winds and hazardous surf overnight, with some regions along the NSW coast breaking rainfall records.
Williamtown saw its heaviest fall in four years with 133mm recorded in the past 24 hours.
While, Newcastle University saw 152mm of rain overnight.
Flooding is also expected to effect the Wollombi Brook Area today, peaking at 3.7 metres in Bulga.
The intense weather system is due to a deep low generating very strong winds, rain and large waves.
