A man has been charged after he allegedly sent messages of a sexual nature to a 15-year-old girl in the Newcastle region.
Police say the man was known to her.
Yesterday, detectives arrested a 45-year-old man at a home in Windale about 7.20pm.
Police seized two mobile phones at the home which will undergo forensic examination.
The man was taken to Newcastle Police Station and charged with use carriage service to menace/harass/offend, groom child for unlawful sexual activity and use carriage service to groom under 16 years for sex.
He was refused bail to appear at Newcastle Bail Court today.
