Former world champion surfer Mick Fanning will be the special guest at one of the mid north coast’s largest surfing events.
Fanning will attend this weekend’s Barney Miller Surf Classic at Sawtell, where more than 100 surfers compete each year.
The two day event also acts as a generous fundraiser within the Australian surfing community.
This year profits will be donated to Kiama surfer Darren Longbottom, who broke his neck during a recent surfing accident in Indonesia.
The 10th annual event will get underway at Sawtell’s main beach from eight o’clock tomorrow morning.
