A man has been refused bail, after allegedly escaping from a Glen Innes jail.
Officers first spotted him around 15 kilometres north of the town at around midday yesterday.
Later, the 29-year-old allegedly stole a vehicle and led police on a pursuit along the New England Highway.
He climbed out of the vehicle and jumped over a pool fence, before being arrested.
