Lismore’s soup kitchen has welcomed a donation from three of the city’s councillors.
Councillors Eddie Lloyd, Nancy Casson and Gianpiero Battista each donated 10 percent of their monthly pay – a combined $480 – to the Winsome Hotel.
“We decided to go back to basics and really give it to the people that are at the bottom level of our society and hopefully lift their lives a little bit,” Cr Battista said.
The trio are encouraging other councillors to get involved in the initiative.
