WOMAN CHARGED WITH MURDER AFTER BODY WAS FOUND IN THE MIDDLE OF THE ROAD AT RAYMOND TERRACE
A 21-year-old woman will front court today charged with murder, following the death of a man at Raymond Terrace over the weekend.
The body of a man was found in the middle of the road, near Watt and Payton streets, early on Saturday morning.
He was suffering stab wounds.
Despite paramedics’ best attempts to revive him, he died at the scene.
Police from Port Stephens-Hunter Police District established a crime scene, which was examined by specialist forensic police.
Following inquiries, officers yesterday swooped on a motel in North Haven, south of Port Macquarie, where they arrested a 21-year-old woman.
She was taken to Port Macquarie Police station and charged with murder.
She was refused bail and will appear in Port Macquarie local court today.
It’s believed the man and woman were known to each other.
