With bushfires and, more recently, floods devastating the Northern Rivers, the SES have been swamped with calls for help, and now, they’re calling for help themselves, encouraging more volunteers to join their incident management team.
Those wanting to be involved don’t need specific qualifications, though the SES hope individuals will bring expertise from their own fields of work.
“So the training courses very in length depending on what you’re doing and also it depends on what life skills you bring to the agency.”
