WESTS HAMMER CENTRAL EN-ROUTE TO GRAND FINAL
Wests have booked the first place in the Newcastle rugby league grand final, overcoming Central in the major semi 50 points to 10.
The Rosellas led 22 points to four at half time and despite a Butcher Boys try, Ryan Walsh soon restored order for the home side.
When Matthew Herman crashed over, Wests led 34 to 10.
Al Lantry then scored his first try of the afternoon, before Pat Mata’utia put the result beyond doubt.
Central will now host Cessnock at St John Oval next Sunday for the other spot in the decider.
