ARMIDALE SECONDARY COLLEGE RUGBY LEAGUE TEAM TO HEAD OUT WEST

Meanwhile, a group of rugby players is doing its part to help those out west.

Players from the brand new Armidale Secondary College will battle it out against four combined central schools in an end-of-season play-off… for drought relief.

“Collie, Mungundi, Boggabilla and Goodooga, and these guys really don’t get much of a chance to play football, so we’ve taken our open boys football team out there to play them.”

Players have been putting their skills to good use off the field as well – raising money to give back to towns suffering in the current conditions.

But the main aim of the visit was to show the other team how it’s done.

“They don’t get much footy out there, so we’re going out there to gi ve them a bit of help with footy and challenge them.”
