THE SHOW WILL GO ON IN TAMWORTH
Meanwhile, despite the drought forcing a number of local shows to cancel events altogether, the Tamworth Show will go on.
The organising committee says very few displays have been impacted by the dry conditions.
“Dairy cattle have been cancelled, fat lambs are going ahead, they were but we’ve turned that around so they’re going ahead, there’s not a lot of things cancelled. The campdraft has gone by the wayside naturally because of the availability of cattle and team penning at this stage,” Show Committee President, Greg Townsend.
The event is switching venues to the AELEC, with the facility also celebrating its tenth anniversary.
“We’ll have a stage with entertainment, on the hour every hour and then through to your shearing, your sheep, cattle, animal nursery, dairy goats, alpacas..”
The three day event kicks off on August 31.
