Police are seeking assistance from the public after a man presented at John Hunter Hospital with a gunshot wound to the leg.
Officers responded to reports of a gun being fired, around 5.00pm on Thursday at Renfrew Crescent, Edgeworth.
Shortly afterwards a 30-year-old man showed up at hospital with a gunshot wound to his lower right leg.
Police are investigating the circumstances surrounding the incident.
