MARCHING KOALAS RETURN HOME FROM U.S.
After more than 30 hours of travel, young musicians from Newcastle’s iconic Marching Koalas have returned home from the US.
Greeted by excited family members, the students recently performed at the 149th Pasadena Rose Parade, which was televised to millions.
“It was really good for the kids and it really put Newcastle on the world stage, it was wonderful,” said band manager Geoff Lynch.
The tour was also Geoff Lynch’s last.
He was one of the founding directors, and has decided to step down from his role as band manager.
“It has been such a big part of my life and something that I was very passionate about and so proud to be able to give so many students and young people the opportunity to see the world.”
