PORT MACQUARIE WILL BE HOME TO A $17.5 MILLION HEALTH UNIT BY 2019

After more than three years of planning, today the first sod was turned for a new $17.5 million mental health unit in Port Macquarie.
It will include 24 secure rooms, dining and lounge areas, and an interview room for patients.
“They will need acute mental health care, we want to make sure they can get that provided in a world class facility like we will see here, right here at Port Macquarie base hospital.” – Leslie Williams, Member for Port.
Construction will begin next month and is forecast to be complete by mid 20-19.
