It was a bittersweet day at Wyong Police Station as staff bid farewell to retiring Senior Sergeant Rod Gordon.
He has been in the police force for 31 years, and spent 17 of those on the Central Coast as Head of the Prosecuting Command.
He says it has been an honour to serve, but he’s looking forward to a much-needed break.
As is tradition, Mr Gordon received a proper salute and a send off in a police car.
