MINIMAL HEADACHES FOR POLICE AT SPLENDOUR
Police say they’re pleased with the overall behaviour of festival-goers at the weekend’s Splendour in the Grass festival, despite more than 140 people being issued with field court attendance notices.
More than 32,500 people attended the festival each day between Friday and Sunday, including 22,500 campers.
With the assistance of the Dog Unit, 267 people were detected in possession of prohibited drugs, including cannabis, ‘ice’, MDMA and cocaine.
Police issued 76 cannabis cautions and more than 142 field court attendance notices.
12 people were charged with drug supply.
In one instance, a 21-year-old Gold Coast man was allegedly found with 60 ecstasy pills.
Police also issued more than 65 criminal infringement notices after people attempted to enter the event without valid tickets.
