THE NORTH WEST SHIVERS AS TEMPERATURES PLUMMET
Woolbrook in the north west of New South Wales dropped to a low of -8.0 overnight, the lowest temperature in the region this month, and one of the lowest temperatures in the state overnight.
The Upper Hunter and Northern Tablelands also shivered, with Merriwa and Glen Innes recording lows of -4.8 and -5.9 respectively. The Northern Rivers also didn’t escape the cold, with the temperature falling to 1.0 at Lismore Airport just before 7am.
Coastal regions fared much better. Gosford on the Central Coast fell to 3.7, while Kempsey on the Mid North Coast had a low of 2.8. In Newcastle, Nobbys dropped to 6.5 just before 7am, on par with the Gold Coast Seaway that recorded 6.9 this morning.
