A man will front court today after he was allegedly found inside a stranger’s home in Newcastle last night, only wearing underpants.
Around 11.30pm yesterday, police were called to a home in Maryville after a female resident woke to find the man standing inside her lounge room.
The woman told the man to leave and he ran out the front door of the Lewis Street home.
Officers found him running along Lewis Street in his underpants and arrested him.
He was allegedly carrying a pile of women’s clothing and a woman’s wig at the time.
The man was taken to Newcastle Police Station and charged with enter dwelling with intent and peep and pry.
He was refused bail to appear at Newcastle Local Court today.
