One man has been arrested, and another 16 moved on by police, as a result of reports of lootings in flood-ravaged Lismore.
A 41-year-old man from Jiggi has been issued with a Court Attendance Notice for allegedly stealing property and intimidation, after locals confronted the man.
He will appear in Lismore Local Court in May.
Police say residents are moving some items outside to be cleaned, and the property is becoming the target of offenders.
16 people were also reported as acting suspiciously in the CBD, eyeing off resident’s property which was not being thrown away.
Police have increased patrols around the CBD, and residents are reminded to report people who are acting suspiciously or seen stealing property.
