ANGLO AMERICAN BREAKS SILENCE ON DRAYTON SOUTH REJECTION
Anglo American has publicly slammed the New South Wales planning process, labelling it broken and in need of repair.
It follows last week’s rejection of the global miner’s Drayton South open cut coal project, south of Muswellbrook.
In a statement, Anglo American criticises the Planning Assessment Commission, claiming its ruling disregarded scientific evidence and the advice of state regulators.
As for the future of the site – the company says it’s considering its options.
