The Quirindi Grasshoppers won’t be gracing the rugby league field in 2017.
The club’s committee made the tough decision to withdraw from the Group 21 competition, due to the team still owing money to Country Rugby League.
The debt dates back to 2014, when Quirindi played as the Wests Lions reserve grade side, using Tamworth as its home ground.
Despite the setback, the club will use this year to secure sponsorship, ahead of 2018.
