AUSTRALIA TO GET ITS FIRST RURAL HEALTH COMMISSIONER
Australia will soon establish its first National Rural Health Commissioner, in a bid to boost regional health services and outcomes.
The Assistant Minister for Health David Gillespie has today introduced the Health Insurance Amendment Bill to parliament, to create the new role.
Mr Gillespie says the commissioner will be an independent advocate, whose first job will be to address the shortage of doctors in rural areas.
