A 62-year-old man has died in a single vehicle crash south of Taree overnight.
The man was travelling northbound along the Pacific Highway near Coolongolook close to midnight, when his car left the road, crashing into a guard rail.
Passing motorists tried to assist the driver, however he died at the scene.
Police are continuing to investigate the cause of the accident.
