BANDIDO ASSOCIATE AND HIS SON FACING FIREARM OFFENCES
An associate of the Bandido outlaw motorcycle gang and his son have been charged with firearms offences in the Hunter.
Officers attached to Strike Force Gawi conducted a targeted vehicle stop at Telarah yesterday morning, where a 48-year-old man was issued with a Firearms Prohibitions Order.
Police then searched his car and a home on Brooks Street, where a firearm and shotgun shells were allegedly seized.
It’s alleged the gun was stolen during a break-in in 2011.
The man was charged with a string of offences and is due to face Maitland Local Court later this month.
Meanwhile officers also raided a home on Bendigo Road at Barnsley just before 10am yesterday, allegedly seizing a revolver, ammunition, a BB gun, a replica pistol, cannabis and steroids.
A 24-year-old man is facing numerous offences including possessing an unregistered firearm.
