Two men aged 46 and 26 will face a range of charges after an off-duty police officer was last night assaulted at a hotel in Macksville.
The officer was hit after coming to the aid of a 30 year hotel staff member who was allegedly assaulted after asking the pair to leave the premises.
The officer and the employee were both treated for facial injuries at the scene by paramedics.
The accused men will reappear in court in February.
