Anglican Archbishop of Perth Roger Herft has resigned, after admitting he let down survivors of child sexual abuse, during his time as the Bishop of Newcastle.
Herft held the position for 12 years, between 1993 and 2005.
Earlier this year, he gave evidence at the Royal Commission into Institutional Responses to Child Sexual Abuse.
The Anglican Diocese of Perth is expected to appoint a successor early next year.
