I am disappointed beyond belief that this didn’t make it onto the NBN news tonight
Shame on you NBN. 20,000 people have signed a petition opposing Baird’s privatisation of a hospital that was built off the back of enormous community work over decades. Your choice to ignore this very legitimate public issue is a disgrace.
BTW it was 2,000 people at the rally.
Murdoch owns the news ..he says what goes on and what doesn’t .He doesn’t want us seen or heard ..We need to do a March on Macquarie st.in Sydney .We can make ourselves heard ..If Baird or Skinner think we’re going away they better think again …??
It was on the NBN news , I saw it.
It’s very sad that important local news such as the Wyong hospital demonstration yesterday was not publicised by the NBN evening news last night. Over 2000 local communitiy members were willing to protest about the NSW liberal government changes to the Wyong hospital , not to mention the 20,000 signatures on petitions. We don’t want it privatised!
The Wyong hospital was payed for by the tax payers, the state and federal governments have no money, it’s the tax payers who fund everything to governments in charge of the day spend it and it was spent well with the recent improvements to the hospital for the local community.
How dare the Baird Liberal government contemplate privatise. the local hospital .
Hi Peter, it did air last night on the Central Coast, I believe that some parts of the region may get Newcastle news rather than the Coast’s depending on where they live.
Hi Catherine, the story did air last night on the Central Coast, I’ve been told that some parts of the region may get Newcastle news rather than the Coast’s depending on where they live and as a result may not have seen it.
Or maybe it was due to the fact that people lie. 2000 ppl lol the seating is only 900 plus give or take a few hundred so maybe 1200?? Then you look at the crowd and remove ( Blue Black and Red Shirts -Union/Labor) oh and children who unable to legally vote……… Not too many Community members. Bit Mike, we union member are members of the public. But you are not when you are fighting for workers rights. You will always put what is best for your jobs before what is potentially best for the community. This is only natural. So in order to for this be a true community effort, put the community front and center not some union who spits out union chants. Ask for assurances of your jobs and assurance we will get cutting edge care! We want a better hospital for the coast!!

Here is an Idea for you, Remove all members that are not in the Wyong Hospital Catchment are…….. Then as the government WILL do see what the engagement is as a %….. Just a little food for though
Yes Peter it was on local Central Coast NBN. It is also on this website, which you have obviously seen and is available for every region to view at any time and as many times as they wish. As for numbers, David Meehan himself said on ABC radio “over 1,000 people ” and the ABC presenter said in his introduction “over 2000 people ” even though Meehan says in the ABC’s own report “over 1000 people “. I think in news, accuracy is more important than pushing one party’s agenda over another’s.
Did you complain to Channel 10 or 7 or ABC TV who didn’t even attend the rally.
A complaint has been lodged as information came to light of invalid signatures on petitions. There is reports of minors signing and also duplicate/fakes
