The state member for Newcastle has found himself at odds with several fellow Labor councillors, over his views for the future of the old rail corridor.
Last night, council moved to begin a rezoning process to breathe new life into the land, just hours before the state’s planning minister rolled into town.

The rail corridor should be used by the light rail. End of story. Why does the government want to waste the money providing light rail up Hunter St, causing traffic and parking horrors, when it could be put to better use elsewhere? Another example of our Premier and his cohorts riding roughshod over other people’s wishes. They think they know best. As for Glendale interchange, bring it on.
