TRUCK DRIVER TO FACE COURT AFTER ALLEGEDLY DRIVING DANGEROUS GOODS WHILE DRUNK
A 61-year-old man will face a North coast Court next month, after he allegedly drove a truck laden with dangerous goods, while drunk.
Police were performing stationary RBT duties on the M1 at Tweed Heads yesterday, when they pulled over a truck carrying cylinders of carbon dioxide, LPG and compressed oxygen.
It’s alleged the driver returned a positive result when breath tested.
The man was then taken to Tweed Heads Police Station where he allegedly gave an official reading of 0.083, which is in the mid-range category.
His licence was suspended, he’ll face Tweed Heads Local Court on November 7.
