ARRIVAL OF SUMMER HEAT PUTS FIRE WARNING INTO SPRING
It’s perfect weather for the holidays, but it’s coming with a dire warning about a heightened fire risk.
The Rural Fire Service has indefinitely suspended fire permits in the Coffs Harbour and Bellingen Shires due to forecast hot, dry and windy conditions.
Residents are also being urged to protect their property by clearing leaves from gutters and removing flammable materials from around homes.
Temperatures are forecast to hit 30 degrees on Saturday with north westerly winds to 15 kilometres an hour.
