A 22-year-old man has sustained serious head injuries after becoming trapped in a car, following a single vehicle crash.
Four adults were in the car which left Glebe Road and hit a brick fence near the King Street intersection at Adamstown at about 3.30am this morning.
A passenger was trapped in the vehicle for some time and was taken to John Hunter Hospital with head injuries.
The driver and front seat passenger, a man and woman in their 40s, were also taken to the John Hunter Hospital.
Traffic was disrupted till about 9am.
