Two men will face court today, after police allegedly seized a loaded firearm and ammunition from a car near Newcastle.
Officers pulled over the Holden Commodore along Sandgate Road at Birmingham Gardens yesterday afternoon for a random breath test, when the 29-year-old driver allegedly failed to produce a licence and became aggressive.
A subsequent search of the car also allegedly uncovered a loaded firearm, ammunition and prohibited drugs.
The driver was charged with nine offences, while his 26-year-old passenger was charged with his outstanding warrant and custody of a knife in a public place.
The pair will face Newcastle Local Court today.
