Belmont Golf Club members have banded together to save the historic Lake Macquarie Amateur Championship.
Back in June, the club announced Golf New South Wales was moving the dates of the tournament, to replace it with an event in Sydney.
But thanks to the dedication of members, the championship will return as a two-day stroke-play event on January 21 and 22… the week before the Avondale tournament.
It’s hoped Belmont will still attract a host of elite amateurs to celebrate the tournament’s 60th anniversary.
