Goonellabah-based rugby league club Northern United’s received almost $12,000 in federal government stronger communities funding.
The money will be spent purchasing equipment, barbeques, computers and a P.A system – items the club previously had to borrow.
“This means that we have a bit more ownership, in terms of how we run things, which is really important. And it’s a bit of security for us, as well, for the future.”
“We will do everything we can to support this club, because they do great work in our wider community.”
