Two star Far North Coast cricketers have each been awarded a prestigious scholarship to help fund their professional cricket ambitions.
Carly Leeson and Lewin Maladay were presented with the Basil Sellers Scholarship at a ceremony at the SCG.
The scholarship provides financial assistance to players aged between 16 and 19.
“It’s just harder getting to training and all that sort of thing and access to coaches and facilities so it’ll definitely help me with that and the transitions from the country to the city”

Past recipients include current Australian captain Steve Smith and test players Josh Hazlewood and Ellyse Perry.
