A long-standing member of Gunnedah Shire Council has been acknowledged for his 43 years of public service.
A senior officer for council, Mike Silver is known for his commitment to the Gunnedah Cricket Association.
His responsibilities range from developing and maintaining tourism and cultural facilities, to aged care and floodplain management.
His achievements – the upgrade of Connadilly Street and the establishment of the former Visitor Information Centre, now the headquarters for the Dorethea Mackellar Society.
