TWO PEOPLE FACE COURT OVER ALLEGED ASSAULT OF FORMER TEST CRICKETER

Two people charged with the alleged bashing of former Australian test cricketer Robert “Dutchy” Holland last month have fronted court this morning.

31-year-old Benjamin Gibbs and 21-year-old Tiffany Pandell appeared briefly at Toronto Local Court.

Mr Holland, aged 69, and his wife were allegedly set upon by the pair, after confronting them for riding their bikes in an Awaba Park.

The pair is facing two counts of robbery and inflict actual bodily harm and one count of common assault.

They’ll appear in Newcastle Court in November.
