Former Catholic Bishop of Newcastle, Michael Malone, has defended the church’s decision not to de-frock paedophile priest Vincent Ryan, when he was released from jail.
Today he also told the Royal Commission that certain acts of child abuse were once considered to be moral issues, rather than criminal ones.
